The Melbourne Headache Centre is a highly specialised treatment facility dedicated to the assessment and treatment of the upper cervical spine as it relates to many conditions including;
- Headache disorders; tension type headache, migraine with/without aura, cluster headache
- Dizziness disorders; vestibular migraine, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness, disequilibrium, motion sensitivity
- Gastrointestinal disorders; cyclic vomiting syndrome, chronic nausea and vomiting syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome
- Dysautonomia including POTS, thoracic and jugular outlet syndromes
- Post traumatic conditions; post traumatic headache, persistent post concussion symptoms
The model of care focuses heavily on the Watson Headache® Approach.
For the past 5 years the Melbourne Headache Centre has become involved in research collaborating with the University of South Australia and Dean Watson to produce the first clinical research into manual cervical therapy and vestibular migraine. Further research collaborations have helped establish the Melbourne Headache Centre as an industry leader, drawing clients from every state and territory within Australia, and from New Zealand, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Thailand and the USA.
We are seeking interest from suitably motivated therapists to join this centre providing hope and relief to thousands people with chronic disorders.
Pre-requisite:
- 3-5 years manual therapy experience.
- Strong desire to niche and develop proficiency in treating sufferers of headache, nausea and dizziness disorders.
- Ability to treat within the framework of the Watson Headache® Approach.
- Self-directed and willing to learn and take instruction.
Location, Days, Hours:
- The position is full-time (34-38hrs per week)
- Days and hours negotiable (within; Monday-Friday, 8.30-6, Sat 9-12)
- On-site only, Melbourne CBD/Docklands
Advantages

- Exposure to the Watson Headache® Approach with successful completion of the Level 1 foundation course.
- Successful completion or intention to complete a Watson Headache® Level 2 Advanced course.
- Experience with hypermobility disorders, thoracic outlet syndrome or concussion/vestibular rehabilitation.
